As a rough estimate, we'd probably be looking at March/April time, as we want to have a good bunch of codes in the first batch.

Here's the latest batch of masters from the designer, with both standing and advancing varieties of command for both sides.  Plus, we've got the first set of Zouaves, which we'll be converting into different headwear further down the line.

The Confederate pikemen look interesting.

Not bad, not bad ...

Could we see the back of zouaves ? Designers tend to underequip them very often.
One must remember that they must be equipped with cartridge box, bayonet in scabbard, cap box and canteen at least, to be able to fight. Haversack also was the personal item - I mean the thing that was not left somewhere before the battle as happaned with backpack.

I WILL resist the temptation to re-do my 15mm ACW armies, just like I'm STILL resisting (only just) the temptation to re-do my 15mm ECW armies. But all these shiny new sculpts is making it hard.

I suppose its better these came out in the middle of my painting up a 1000 acw figure army than after I'd finished it.   :'(

How soon before they hit mail order ?

I'm estimating March for the first lot, we want to stockpile quite a few codes to do a big release to start.

These are shaping up very nicely indeed - I *am* determined not to do ACW again though...honest.

No, really  ???

Hi

I know this is a bit pickey and I may get some flak but here goes.

Should the muskets on the new ACW range not be a bit longer as they look a bit short to me

There I`ve gone and done it now.

They probably should be a touch shorter, but a longer musket would also need to be thicker to get the metal to flow down it.  Then when you add a bayonet to the end, it results in a lot of miscast problems.  I've never thought of it as that noticeable though, certainly not enough to be a problem?

The latest batch of masters have just dropped through the letterbox, just in time for me to get them photo'd up for Xmas!

This month we've got a second set of Zouaves, along with their command.  We'll be using all the Zouave poses shown so far, and converting sets of them into the different headwear shown on the master list (http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,4261.0.html)  Also in this month's batch are Berdan's Sharpshooters, which formed two regiments commanded by Berdan himself, a rather interesting chap if you've got the time to give him a Google.

Hope you like them, more to come next month!

Hey do you think there is a sharpshooter actually firing in the pipelines?   ;)

To be honest, I thought that as well when they arrived!  I'll be asking the designer to sort one out.   :D

The Zouaves look very nice and dynamic, ditto Berdans Sharpshooters.

wargamesbob

Great looking figures, nice action poses - I really am tempted to add this era to my 2012 projects list !

Looks very good but I am curious about the one Union flagbearer in advancing pose.  Is he actually a head taller than everyone else?
