the Bristol F2 AND interwar VBCW use

In the pics thread,  the lovely Pendraken model of the WW1 Bristol Fighter was included in an interwar photo shoot which several  forum members had requested.  ( It is a 'work in progress shot' of a river gun boat converted from the Revell Campbelltown) . Thanks again to Grumpy Old Man for reformating and posting them.

Despite being designed in 1917, Air Ministry  sources that record the Bristol was still in RAF front line service as late as 1932.  Indeed in far flung corners of the Empire they may well have lingered on until the Wapiti could replace them.  (see Angelucci 1985) So yes, VBCW players, the venerable Bristol can and should be used in this 1930s interwar period particularly as Army laision and light bomber (240 lbs worth  to be exact).  

Its a great wee model, good value (compare with 1/144 models)  and simple to build.

My 'commission' is twofold -

One - seeing a wee outfit like Pendraken thrive and prosper- that means this forum stays up and bloggers like you have somewhere to blog. No Pendraken - no forum, so keep the orders coming.

Second, I might just inspire a young gamer to tackle this simple kit - and hey - he might well go on to become a model maker - and we could do with a few more of them in 10mm.   Who knows,  he might turn out crisp masters in 'modern stuff" !
