Got the LoA dolly figures back from Pendraken today (that was quick!) and couldn't resist doing a couple of test figures. To be honest is was as much about avoiding the work I have currently since I am bored with it, as it was about the LoA!

Its a musketeer with apostels and a grenadier. Bear in mind these are only teasers, it will take a while to do a whole range, since there'll probably be about 4 variants per pack. These guys are totally complete yet eiither, for instance I might lengthen the grenadier's coat at the front.
Please forgive the crappy photographs; its late and I didn't have time to set up properly.

Leon

Excellent stuff, thanks for posting Clib!  I'll tell Dave to come and have a look tomorrow.

Excellent !
Tell me please, how many different sets you plan.
Here we have musketeer with apostles and grenadier.
And how about musketer with cartridge box ?
And cavalry ? Armoured, unarmoured, in hats or helmets ?

Plans aren't specific yet, but the types you mention will all be done. Cavalry will be a while away yet.

The only thing I dont like in these figures are buttons (buttonholes ?) on cuffs.
Why dont you make normal buttons ? Some would like to paint them.

I don't do button holes because I haven't been able to find a suitably small tube to press them with. They'd be extremely small.
In any event most people won't want to paint them and if they are raised they become an impediment which look nasty if not painted. Its easier to leave holes that can be left black to suggest buttons.

maciek

Quotemost people won't want to paint them
bloody democracy ...

...
So maybe it's better to leave it flat - without buttons or holes.
This way, willing will apply buttons on their own - with small drop of glue.

YORSTONS

Following on from the previous post about the forthcoming range, will there be diffrent poses for each pack? I am thinking infantry firing, standing and kneeling and pikemen with pikes at various angles. Also diffrent officers and ensigns. Having been inspired by the work of the Leauge of Augsburg in various magazines and through the Under the Lilly Banners rules and the Mark Allen articles in WI i think i could really get into this period.

Leon

Yep, I think there's gonna be 3-4 poses per pack?

Yes 3 to 4 poses will be fairly standard to each pack, in a few cases there will be more. Firing infantry packs will have men in varoius poses, but not kneeling. Pikemen will all have their pikes upright as angling them causes basing problems.

YORSTONS

Ok, re the pikemen any chance of having them open handed so you could have diffrent poses without the basing problems? Then let us add the pikes seperatly.

YORSTONS

Hi Leon,

When did you say the new LOA range was due out?

Leon

I'm sure I've seen this thread before somewhere!  We're looking before the end of the year I think.

Hi, I just wanted to add my voice and say how keen I am to see these guys out. Never been interested in 10mm before but these are just such great looking sculpts and such a good period!

And that's my two cents worth....
