I noticed your staff officers for the new ACW line.  I am curious whether we will see some staff officers for the French and Austrian 1809?    I hope so, I could definitely use some.

There will be some done, once we get the majority of the ACW's released, I'll have a chat with the designer and go through where we're heading next with the Naps.

Hi, do you have any update on the archiduc Charles legion?

Once we get past all the Xmas chaos, we're going to have a good look through all the odds and ends we've got in the drawer here, and sort out the first few months worth of releases for next year.  I'd expect these to be in either Jan or Feb's batch.

Leon, what are your rough timelines for expanding the new range of Napoleonics? Which nations are up next, when do you expect to see them in the store etc? Not trying to fix you down to any specific dates, more like "Prussians should have a similar range of figures to the French and Austrians by the end of this year, Russians are next year, British by the middle of 2014 or so".

Leon

Next up are the Bavarians, the first of which have arrived from the designer already.  I'll get some pics taken of them when I'm back in work, and get them posted up.  After those, we'll be moving over to the Brits.

those barvarians and definetly the brits will be a buy for me, and when you mean brits waterloo or peninsula campaign

British? Start a whole new Napoleonic range before finishing the Danube range? Would it help if I got down on my knees and begged that this doesn't happen? The coming of the Bavarians is more than brilliant but even now there are no Danube campaign battles that can be re-fought without buying outwith the range.

We need to keep the sales in mind as we go forward, so we can keep plugging away at the 1809 lists, but we do need to hit the Brits to keep the sales and money coming in to pay for more design.

Leon, can you please try to include a British trooper kneeling to deflect cavalry that would be such a great figure for dioramas and gamers

One of the missing gaps in the Austrian range, and here they are!  Some of these have already been moulded, so I've grabbed a pic of the master castings instead:

Leon they look really good.

A while back I asked if there was a possibility of separate bags of sabre armed lancers for those people that had the cavalry in two ranks. You said you were not sure and would look again when the masters were completed. Do you think this is now a possibility or is there no chance?

Thanks rob  :)

I remember the conversation, can you remind me of the differences needed on the figure?  Was it a conversion job needed, or will one of those in the picture do already?

In 1809 no difference other than the rear ranks would not have the lance. If issued with carbines both ranks had them originally but it was difficult to handle both a lance and carbine so front ranks tended to discard the carbines as time went on.

I dont think the Austrians Uhlans had carbines anyway but the French lancers did. Later on the carbine was issued only to the rear ranks. So front rank lance, rear rank sabre and carbine for an 1812 army.

The figures shown are perfect, possible a slight repositioning of the arm if carrying a sabre.

Cheers,  :)

Okey doke, so would removing the upright lance and replacing with a sabre do the trick?  We could do that conversion and offer them in smaller packs for folk?
