The Pendraken German paras, I guess. Their officers wear caps, too. Slap on the terra colours and the Olivengrün and you're done.

Surely the para helmet is wrong for SS troops though?

Paint job on standard Germans should do it, unless you want em wearing shleter halves.

In a life-size model you would immediately notice the difference, yes. But if you look closely at the Pendraken para models I think you will agree that a little paint goes a long way towards adding the 'side-flap' and turning the para helmets into regular German helmets. Besides the SS camo jackets were just that: thin smocks, often worn over the normal uniform, giving the soldier the same slightly flabby look as the paras' jumping smocks. Anyway, that's the best suggestion I can think of, I'll gladly trade it for a better one.

I think a paint job on the LW Germans (GR1-GR7) would work better than using Paras. DAK figures would work too. Some of the Winter Germans are in smocks (over greatcoats in some cases). The mysterious Mid War Panzer Grenadiers (GR177) may be suitable but nobody knows what they look like  ;)

Thanks for the suggestions guys   :D

I did a late-war SS commission ages ago - and used a whole variety of codes...with a decent & consistent paintjob you can convince the eye easily in 10mm  ;)

I'll dig 'em out & take some pics if you like [the owner sold them back to me when he moved on to other projects!]

Would you please try and dig up those codes, Nik? I'd be interested, too. The latest Pendraken releases have once more picqued my WWII Eastern Front interest and i'm ordering and (re)painting early war stuff right noe, but late war battles and the troops involved will sooner or later be added. Sooner rather than later. And the Waffen SS will be part of that.

Just paint a mix of pea dot and Italian camo on your figures for late war SS. Will work on any standard German Infantry figure.
