O Dinas Powys

My name's Meirion and I'm a role-player/board gamer.  Discovered Pendraken just before Christmas when I followed the link from this (http://boardgamegeek.com/image/652990/forlorn-hope?commentid=1393796#comment1393796) comment on Boardgamegeek about the alien figures. I then saw the mini-dungeon and was smitten!

I've posted the odd comment or two, but thought it was high time to say a long-overdue and proper hello to the community - especially since I'm hoping to make it to Salute on Saturday so may see some of you there.  :-h

I'm currently playing a Savage Worlds Swords and Sorcery game and so am mainly picking up bits and pieces for that.  It was quite scary to find that I hadn't picked up a paint brush in probably 15 years - and even worse that most of my paints are Citadel Colour from when they were first released...  :-[ (Mostly still good though! :o  ;))

Oh yes, Surbiton: used to live in Berrylands and was a member of the Kingston Games Group about a decade or so ago (from when they were based at The White Heart and the shift to the The Cambridge Arms).  I've seen a couple of forum members who are from that area, so it's possible I know you from way-back-when; nice to be reacquainted if that's the case!

Cheers!

Hi from Surbiton, I am a member of Kingston Games Group though only for about last 4 years, I probably know many of the people who were around 10 years ago. We now meet in the Willoughby Arms on a Sunday and Tuesday evenings, why not pop along, no doubt you will still know most people.

It is indeed, thanks for the welcome guys; I've enjoyed being a semi-lurker.  This is a very civilised and informative place to hang out  :D

That’s the pub, Willoughby, not Cambridge!  Mind you they’re only a few streets apart and it’s the Cambridge Estate IIRC.

I ought to do that - although I'm not likely to get the chance any time soon: we've got twins due in five weeks and with two daughters already things are about to get VERY interesting  ;)

Saw the Kingston guys at Salute, but only vaguely recognised one chap and I needed to get to the Pendraken stand before my 5yo decided she’d had too much excitement for one day ;)

Well hello!

Long time no see Meirion. Yep I was a long term Bunshop-kingston gamer, but sadly I'm a rare sight there now.

Hope you and the family are well.
Still RQing?

Cheers.

Hey Adrian,

Great to hear from you.  Saw the mugshots in The Cat in the Hat and Pendraken Auxiliaries threads; looks like neither of us have changed much in the past decade - except perhaps a touch more "distinction" in the beard department  ;)

Haven't played RQ for a while - tried HeroWars/HeroQuest for a bit, but no-one really got it!  Been round the houses with systems and have settled on Savage Worlds for the moment.  Still play with Simon and David from the old days, plus Paul who I think is an occasional Sunday player (he's in the mug-shots)

However, having seen that there are Pendraken Bison Riders and Broo - sorry Beestmen/Haedusmen - it's kind of tempting to revisit Prax  :-\

The family's well, just trying to gear up the forthcoming maelstrom!  :-SS

All the best,

Meirion
