Hi Everybody

I was just wondering if anybody knew of any 10mm French Char FCM 2c

being available. I was just hankering after a large, early war tank  :D.

Failing that how about the A1E1 Independent

or the Vickers Mk11 Medium

I know the last isn't a large tank but it's useful for VBCW stuff. I saw that somebody had it in resin but required a cheque written with a quill for payment - ie no credit card or paypal which makes it hard if you're buying from the Antipodes.

Thanks for any help

Cheers

Excellent, looking forward to them, especially to the MkII. In the meantime I'll plug on slowly with making a card model for the FCM 2c  :(

Interesting approach, looks good so far though, and I'm keen to see it assembled.

Hi

I've put up a very early card model without any instructions at http://www.filesonic.com/file/323904524/New_reworked_char_2c.png. It's about a 2M .png file and I've put it up to see if anybody thinks it's worthwhile going ahead with. I've taken out the gun barrels and machine guns because these can be done with wire and I'm thinking of doing the same with the exhausts, the completed tank should be around 69-70mm long for 1/144-1/150 scale so you should probably print with about a 15mm margin around the png.

Thanks for making it available :D I've downloaded it, and when I'm feeling patient (brave) I'll give it a go ;)

One has to ask - why want one. There 10(ma be less) and they saw no action at all.

Original post mentions VBCW so guess it's for that.

Been thinking about that - seems the assumption is it would happen in 1938, due to the abdication. Think otherwise, 1914, over home rule in Ireland, 1923, from Glasgow (we all know Scots are REvolting ;D ;D), or 1926 from the general strike.

Because I need something to fight the t-28s, t-35s and now the expected Vickers Medium IIIs  ;D. No, they were a major propaganda point for the pre-war/early war French and the amount of photographs and films of FCM 2c from that era testify to that mindset. They would make a terrific ongoing campaign objective as well as fighting (if allowed). As to number, well it is a fictitious war and looking back at some of the 'historical' armies I've seen over the decades I think a few large French tanks are acceptable  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi

Just came across this card model of a Vickers medium II at http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=8&sort=date&page=2

They are available in 1/72 so it's just a matter of scaling it down by around 1/2, this is to fill in the time while we're waiting for the Pendraken tank to emerge  :). I think you have to join the forum to be able to download.

Also there are some other interesting interwar tanks and armoured cars available as well.

Cheers

I've just noticed they've got plans for a Ratte, methinks I'll be joining that later on...!

fred.

Looks good - but far too fiddly to do in 1/144 (frankly looks well fiddly at 1/72)

One with simpler suspension would be good for gaming.
