Having bought a 'Dongle' (?) to bypass the use of an ether net cable..and probably a fried bit at the back of the PC....and ACTUALLY GOT IT TO WORK,.....all I want to know is this.

I can get rid of the ethernet cable now, can't I ?

Apart from potentially allowing another high voltage strike to get to the PC, I can't see that it serves any purpose at all.

If you have had a lightning strike through it. Definitely throw it away. Impressed the whole PC wasn't wrecked.
