ACW: Kennesaw Mountain (BBB rules).
Third playtest after only minor amendment, different combination of players.
Very interesting because both sides adopted quite different plans from previous games.
Union was much more cautious initially, seeking to bypass rather than bull through.
Confederates were equally conservative, foregoing the chance of early counterattack before the odds got too great, opting instead to deploy much further back than historically.
That meant when the Union did reach the Confederate line, all Union corps were intact and fresh. The Confederate ones were too, of course, but the Union was able to exploit its maximum numerical superiority.
Union victory - but still came down to the last turn as usual.

For King and Parliament with Sunjester.

Decided to try the terrain placement rules, which resulted in us making an interesting involved battlefield, and then taking most of it off following card draws! Sj said it was very DBM.

Started off slow, with the two lines looking at each other and thinking "Nope, don't think we'll attack, they've got guns and stuff". This was helped by the fact FK&P uses cards, not dice, so they weren't being luck for Sj.

Then I decided to charge my cavalry. Unfortunately, the gods of fate had obviously reminded the cards that they were random number generators, so the Sj rules applied, so I lost all 4 of my horse for one of his - and that took shooting from some foot to get that!

The after multiple charge/bounces by Sj, my left finally gave up, giving him a 18-3 victory, on a break point of 16!

Three sided Mortal Gods:Mythic.

ACW: Battle of Nashville (1864). BBB rules.
Revisiting a scenario we first played a decade ago.
Produced an exciting game that was a tale of doom and salvation.

Two games of 20mm Crossfire Spanish Civil War.
Lost both but two real nail biters that might have swung, and Neil found out the hard way why you don't close assault tanks, even FT-17s.

That is an achievement for the 'Clan'!
Those PaxArcs are tough opponants.

Both sides had 1500 points but the McGregor Mark 1 tank is very very tough Hits 6 with 6 Shields and Saves on 3+

The Pax Arcadians haven't fought for several years, 2019 was the last outing, and the price of Smart Missiles has almost doubled so together with reduced defence spending the PAs were completely outgunned

Still very nice to get the toys out after so many years
