Raider4

Just watched this, thoroughly entertaining.

Though there are at least half a dozen moments when you go "what are they doing now?" or "what was the point of that?", and the ending is a real "Eh? How?". But overall very enjoyable.

Big Insect

Quote from: Big Insect on 15 April 2024, 09:36:27 AMRebel Moon II out on the 19th April (on Netflix) - I shall watch it out of interest but I have no great expectations that it will be any better than the first one  :'(

Well .... what is there to say!!! YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWN  :'(  :'(  :'(

Quote from: Raider4 on 29 December 2023, 12:03:28 AMJust got back. 'Twas very good. Odd bit of bad acting, and occasionally the monster's eyes looked a bit weird to me but generally the graphics & effects were excellent and the story was much more grounded than the recent US versions have been.

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed it as well - especially the whole low budget approach, which seemed to fit the historical time-line perfectly.
I also saw the trailer for the next Godzilla-Kong movie. Maybe if I was trapped on an airline flight long-enough I might be forced to watch it, but it is all starting to get even more ridiculous, if that is at all possible.
NB: I did once (many years back) fight a rather good 6mm scale 'Pacific Rim'* game using FWC - with Battletech mechs and old plastic GW Genestealers as the Kaiju - which was fun. (* ours was called 'Baltic Rim' to allow me to use my Neo-Soviet ground forces).

Always wondered why I've never seen anything about the events of 1066 - surely one of the pivotal events of English history.

Step forward the BBC:

Looks fun

It does. And it's a story worth telling.

But . . . if I see a back-scabbard, I'm out. Fantasy, pure fantasy. It's what really annoyed me about The Last Kingdom.

just saw this film preview on YT.....a lone Tiger on a special mission behind enemy lines on the Eastern Front....hmmm  :-\

What could possibly go wrong? after all its a Tiger  ;D
"Welcome back to the fight...this time I know our side will win"

Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

Plot of that one sounds silly - Tigers on a secret mission behind the lines. Whatever else niether mark of tiger could be described as sneaky...

Saving Private Ryan crossed with Fury. From a German POV. Hmmm.

fred.

One of my favourite stats from WWII is that of 13 Tigers that attempted a 13 mile road march to Arnhem (from the rail head) only 1 made it, due to mechanical issues.

So hopefully it's a short range special mission! To say nothing of sneaking around in a huge tank!

I just saw the trailer and had very mixed feelings about it. I will certainly give it a go though when it comes to Amazon.
