I have come into possession of a magazine which covers Belgium in WWI.

Since I am looking for a new project, and 1914 vaguely interests me, I rushed to Pendraken to see what was on offer. I was rather dismayed to see a complete lack of Carabiniers in top hats.

Gentlemen, any thoughts on a proxy?

AU9 Austrian Jagers in greatcoats might do, but you'd have to file the plumes off:

Yes, agreed AU9 Austrian Jagers are the best subsitutes for Belgian Carabiniers in their "pre-Yser" uniforms worn in August 1914. There is a discussion with Leman/Dour Puritan from many years ago somewhere in the forum about this.

If you need 10mm dog machine gun carts you will need to go external I'm afraid, but you can now get the ex-Magister Militium range ones from Baccus's 10mm site as they have taken over those ranges.

Thank you both. I feel a test order in the offing.

For the dog mgs, I may have have a go at scratch building something.  :-\

I've only got some of his Belgian Force Publique, so I've not got a lot to go on but comparing them with some of my British Sudan figures, they look slightly taller.
