Hi All ,
As the heading says. Only AT can go in a bunker, in Africa the 88 is classed as AA . Can it go in a bunker ?
In Early War the 88 is AT so presumably it can ....
Also ,if the 88 is AA ,why has it no AA factor ?
Thanks

The '88' is AA - you just use the higher of its AP/AT factors to shoot at aerial targets.
It is in the AA section of the list as that was its usual designated function.

The fact that it, like a lot of other AA guns, were often used on a dual purpose basis, in a secondary AT or even AP role sometimes, is recognized in the rules

Abd Yes, it can be deployed in into a bunker, although historically it was usually a massive bunker & I'd suggest that if it is in a bunker its probably not able to function in its AA role and would be classified as having a restricted 'R' arc of fire.

Bunkers are odd things, in that the bunker itself can always be targetted, especially by on-table artillery and mortars, especially with Smoke ammo  ;)

There you go  :)

OK thanks ,
So if it's not limited to AT , what can't go in a bunker?
Also , hitting the troops in the bunker is still a 6 , save on 3 and suppressed on a 6 so smoke is best !

Generally putting ordonnance in bunkers is limited to AT guns.
The '88 is an exception as it performs a dual role.

Most other Artillery are not allowed, as they generally were not able to fire. Likewise most AA guns are prohibited, again because they cannot fire in their primary role.

TBF 88's in bunkers tend to be in fixed fortifications, like the Atlanic Wall for example. So putting 88's in a bunker in an ordinary game, is probably a bit 'gamey'. IMHO.
But that's up to you  :)

It's really a matter of practicality and historical president  :)
