Was looking for pictures of Jordanian Churchill tanks, and found this:

Does anyone have any info on this vehicle? It appears to have a 17pdr ATG.

The video confirms M47, Centurion 20pdr, Saracens, Jeep+RCL all in service by 1958

I found a reference to it my old vehicle notes from pre-internet days (!), it is a Ford Canada 3 ton 4x4 lorry, converted in 1954, with light armour plating round the gun. My notes say 1 made, which is clearly incorrect, there's at least 4 in the video.

I also came across a half-track version of a Landrover the other day.
I think it was aimed at the African export market - I dont think many were produced and that Ghana was the only potential buyer, but it looked like a great 'what if' model  :D

Indeed - fabulous idea - shame it never made it into full production.
NB: I'd post a photo for others but my technical skill fail me.
Cheers

Most interesting - especially the wider Middle East buyers.

The first *ahem* Gentleman's Periodical I bought was, I believe, in 1977. It was a copy of Men Only and had a very interesting article about the "Land Rover Centaur".

I always thought that Gentleman's Relish was a euphemism for, ummm, something. But it turns out to be a real thing.

Your comment above just reminded me of that for some reason.

Sorry for the thread hijack.

I'd already highjacked the thread, so no apologies necessary  :D
