After nearly 100 entries and 7 days of voting, it's time to declare the winners of the 2025 Pendraken Painting Competition!  Every year we get to see some outstanding paint work and this year was no different.

Each of our Forum members had 5 votes to cast per category, so without further ado...

The Winners of the 2025 Pendraken Painting Competition are:

Foot - Pre-20th C. (15 entries)

This category was neck and neck all week long with the top two entries still dead level this morning.  One person pushed ahead this afternoon only to be pipped at the post this evening!

1st place: KCW's AWI Hessian grenadiers - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Shrimproll's SYW Prussian fusiliers - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Foot - 20th C. (10 entries)

This was one of the tightest categories with five entries vying for those top spots and we had another tie going into today.  In the end, one pulled ahead by a single vote!

1st place: ale's WWII Italians - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Villev's SCW International Brigade - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Mounted (15 entries)

The Mounted category had a clear winner for most of the week so everyone else was fighting it out for second place... In the end we had joint winners for the second spot.

1st place: KCW's AWI Dragoons - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

Joint 2nd place: Forez42's Nap Dragoons: - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Joint 2nd place: rct75001's Sudan British camels - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Vehicle (11 entries)

This category started out very even with most of the entries picking up votes over the first few days.  By the middle of the week a handful had pulled ahead and then one began to leave the rest of the pack behind...

1st place: Shrimproll's 18th century coach - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: ale's WWII DAK vehicles - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Fantasy & Sci-Fi (8 entries)

We only had 8 entries in this category but it was great to see some of our new Sci-Fi ranges on show.  This category also had one of the closest battles all week long.

1st place: Streetgang's Sardaukar infantry - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Maraviglia's Sci-Fi marines - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Open - Single Base (15 entries)

This category has some excellent little entries and it's always great to see some of these mini-vignette type bases.  We had a definite winner here and then I think we might have two friends who were fighting it out for second place...!

1st place: Maraviglia's Nap commanders - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: Federico's WWII ambulance - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

Open - Army! (14 entries)

This was another tight category with half a dozen entries all running for that first place.  By the end of the week one had grabbed the top spot and two others were very close for second!

1st place: ale's WWII Italians - wins £50 Pendraken voucher!

2nd place: DHautpol's Yorkists - wins £25 Pendraken voucher!

And that's for another year!  Congratulations to all of our winners, we'll be posting all of your entries to our social media and you'll receive an email in the next few days with your prize voucher.  We'll also get your Winner's tags added to your profiles, which is of course the most important thing!

Thank you to everyone who entered and took the time to prepare your entries.  We always look forward to the Painting Competition and seeing what you can do with our little metal figures.  We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

I add my congratulations to all entrants and winners although I again oscillate between awe struck inspiration at what can be done and shame at my own efforts.   :)

I also want to thank Leon for all the effort and monetary support in running this competition.  It demonstrates very well the range and attractions of 10mm.
