A narrative mini-campaign that I've started running, broadly set in Austria during the Hungarian 1848 Revolution, using the excellent Rebels & Patriots rules.

Hi Steve the watchtower on the hill makes for a nice visual objective and centre piece to the game. Will casualties or unit experience etc follow units into future battles or will you use a fresh OOB each time?

Steve J

For this mini-campaign Norm, I'll be using fresh OOB for each game. Whilst I would love to factor in losses and experience etc, I don't want to run before I can walk! So currently the leader traits will suffice. Looking ahead it is something I want to do in the future for sure.

Good stuff! Good looking game and I like the way a few random traits have got your neurones firing to come up with back stories!

I do like these compact little armies, with a dose of imagi-nation thrown in.

Very nice, Steve. We love a game that tells a story!

As for Lt Radetzky's new moniker, how about something like "The Tiger of Trauberk", or "The Devil's Moustache"?

Steve J

Adding a narrative certainly makes for a more fun game in my experience :) . As for the monikers, thanks for the suggestions, as the first one certainly appeals!

The scenic items are well worth the gratuitous shots ;)

Another interesting game, it's great that you're making a 'game-a-week' quite achievable at present!

This is what we want from campaigns but often don't quite achieve, well done getting the balance right. "The narrative drive of the campaign is nice and giving me plenty of ideas, without it all becoming too labourious."

I look forward to seeing your church building efforts.

The narrative element does allow for a much easier campaign for sure Paul :) .
