QuoteSounds good, Peter. I think games that goes right down to the wire are some of the most fun.

In the period I believe the rebels would by Corcyrans. Corcyra being the city state that controlled Corfu at the time. The Corcyran navy was top rank, equal to the Corinthian and Athenian navies at the time.

Any pictures?

No sorry we didn't take any pictures of the Sybota game Mike.

Played a different scenario last night which Paul did take a series of shots of, 406BC in the eastern Aegean where a Spartan and Beotian(sp?) force completely blitzed our Athenian and allied force.

Paul's newly made wreck markers were put to good use  ;D

The Athenians used a lot of chits every turn but just could not inflict much significant damage to the opposing fleet.

I think the rules system works really well and certainly gives a fast flowing game. We used probably around 25 units per side and in both games got a decisive result within 2 - 3 hours.

Paul obviously put in a lot of effort in all aspects of getting these scenarios together and the games reflected that.

:)  :D  :-[

I'm very pleased with how the rules are coming together and the look of the games

Ithoriel, the opposition in the previous game were indeed the Corcyrans

I really should put together an after-action report, with pictures, on last night's Battle of Arginusae 406BC :!!

Two great games:

ACW: Gettysburg (BBB). It's a classic. Made an old friend's dream come true as he'd never played it. Confederate victory in game terms (which is not the same thing as saying Lee would be in Washington next day).

Franco-Prussian War: Beaumont (BBB). A fighting withdrawal is always a fun situation. Nice mix of frustration and triumph for the Germans, ending up with a nail-biting finish for a draw.

Full reports to follow as and when I get a chance.

Can I ask what your impression of Chain of Command 2 is Sunjester?

Are they much changed from the first edition?.....looked at the original version but we never got into an actual game for some reason, too many other existing projects/rulesets probably didn't help.
