Cold War commander last night. British vs Soviet, Cheiftain Rgt with some recce and very ineffective artillery vs Two T72 btn with an attached BMP1 company and btn of 122s. No choppers or aircraft as both players were very rusty. British victory, think the Russians were overly aggresive, British lost 1 Warior the Soveits 14 T72. Cheifies are a tough bas**tds.

Sounds like your game was well staged then if the Thespians won  :)

Our friend Tom Ballou was over from the US to run his wonderful Moby Dick whalehunt game as a participation game at the Colours Show. Then he kindly came to Oxford and ran it for us at OWS.
Not really a wargame, but it was bloody and it was a blast.

ACW. Fair Oaks aka Seven Pines. BBB rules.
Another playtest of Matt's scenario.
Game structure just about right now, produced an entertaining and absorbing see-saw fight.
Probably just needs one more tweak of the victory conditions and it'll be perfect.
As it stands, it was a bunch of fun anyway.
(blog post from last October's go at it is here:)

Warhammer Old World
I played 1000 points of Goblins Vs Mort's Empire
So, by the end of turn 4, I had 45/999 left on table!
Empire pistolliers and a level 1 mage who could only roll a fireball on 11 killed everything!

WWII: French vs Germans.
15mm figures. Arc of Fire II rules in development.
Remote gaming with Scott in the US.
Scenario was "First Clash of Armor: Gembloux II" from the SkirmishCampaigns scenario book "France '40 Battles for the Meuse".
https://skirmishcampaigns.com/books/

This is the second in a 3-scenario mini-campaign. I had a dozen AFVs and three platoons of motorcyclists and lorried Panzergrenadiers with which to hold two objectives against counter-attacking French H-35s while taking a third objective from dug-in French infantry with nasty little 25mm AT. Luckily my plan fitted perfectly with Scott's plan: I laid an ambush exactly where he brought his tanks on, bagged them all, then was able to mass enough force to accomplish my mission. Didn't have it all my own way - one PzGren platoon did suffer when it stumbled into a minefield - but I have got my nose in front in the campaign after losing the first scenario.

Nice when a plan works.
