The Father requires you to be crucified! Don't disappoint me again! (deep intake of breath through respirator)

Not an easy double act to pull off!
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

Gerald Harper: Adam Adamant, Hadleigh and RAF Officer in the Hour that Never Was episode of the Avengers.
96 years old!
I remember all those - he couldn't have been that old.
Someone's doing weird things with the calendar.

Julian McMahon (56). Australian actor best known for  TV series Charmed and Nip/Tuck, and playing Dr. Doom in the first two Fantastic Four movies.

Too young.

Peterem

Ex-folkie Dave Cousins (85), founder and vocalist of the Strawbs - even though I never much cared for their only (and much misinterpreted) hit "Part of the Union"

AWWWWW ! :(

'Supernaut' and 'Crazy Train' on today's playlist at Techno Towers.

Orcs

Yep, got to be a Black Sabbath playlist today
The cynics are right nine times out of ten. -Mencken, H. L.

Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but of playing a poor hand well. - Robert Louis Stevenson

This is really sad news - he was a very genuine guy despite the stardom and daft TV programmes and the like - met him on the Blizzard of Ozz tour in Liverpool and he signed my (vinyl - they were the days!) copy of Black Sabbath's first album. Not a *great* vocalist but a unique and powerful one, difficult (if not impossible) to imitate.

Gonna listen to lots of Sabbath today, and the sublime "Diary of a Madman".

Peterem

Somewhat overshadowed by Ozzy (RIP), bluesman John Mayall, 90, whose pioneering Bluesbreakers made the reputation of greats like Clapton, Peter Green, Jack Bruce and John McVie.

Last Hussar

Reminder I should listen to more Mayall
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

"The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little."
Franklin D. Roosevelt

Gwydion

Probably odd to be picky about this but Mayall died a year ago - 22 July 2024.
A great blues man who nurtured, as well as the above, Mick Taylor - still the best guitarist (sorry Keith!) the Stones ever had.

Cleo Lane a great innings, but had not heard of Tamiya's passing :( . The latter, alonng with Airfix and Matchbox, a huge part of my childhood, like many others I'm sure.
