I've been giving the tiny men a bit of a rest and focusing on terrain

Hills, Sight blocking rocks, difficult/broken ground, baracades etc

I painted a whole bunch of 6mm Napoleonics for a variety of good friends.

They use DBN which advises on 1 inch frontages and a variety of depths ranging from half an inch to one inch for differing troops types.
My Ego forbids a signature.

Didn't say 'skirmish' in your original post.

The basing I suggested will be fine for Sharp practice too with the addition of a few big men. Just treat one base as one figure.
