I think his was expected somewhat!
It was simply a matter of when.

A plane crash they say.
Well, we were all expecting an "accidental fall from a hotel window"... as so often seems to happen 😉

Could easily say something political here.
I won't.

At least things have progressed slightly from the days of Ivan the Terrible, where you could expect to have to watch all of your family painfully exterminated ahead of having your own tongue ripped out and fed to your favorite hunting dog, before you met your own grizzly fate. Progress takes time in Russia!

Although, it could all be 'Fake News' of course and he is just going to reappear in a few years time, with a plastic surgery 'make-over' and a nasty limp. "No Mr Bond ...  I expect you to die!"
'He could have lived a risk-free, moneyed life, but he preferred to whittle away his fortune on warfare.' Xenophon, The Anabasis

Apparently an aide ran in to Putin attending a concert in Kursk and breathlessly announced that Prigoszhin's plane had crashed.
WHAT? Said Putin  is it 6.30 already?

Roger Whittaker. One of those performers that seemed a staple of Saturday tv in the 1970's.

He certainly was, even in the Antipodes :(

I had assumed he had died a while ago :-[

Talking after the pub quiz last night we came up with a round;
List of famous people,  list of deaths  - who died how?
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

I think this counts, the tree at Sycamore Gap: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-66947040

Absolutely mindless vandalism, I really hope they've got some kind of punishment available for them, even though it looks to be a 16-year old.

I wouldn't want to say "yeah, but don't you just know the little ba5tard will have a sob story that he's from a broken home, he suffers from (something), he's never had a positive role model in his life and, anyway, he's too young to understand what he did was wrong".
So I won't.

Hi

I wouldn't hold your breath. A 15 year old got 14 months 'detention' today for stabbing a teacher with a knife at their school in Tewkesbury earlier this year: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-gloucestershire-66946256

I understand from the local news that 7 months of the 'detention' will be spent at home and will include some 'training'.

Don't get me wrong, I am not a 'lock em up and throw away the key' type of person, but really, 14 months for nearly killing someone?

Once dealt with a guy in prison who was there because GBH. It was the right place for him, but when Ì found out he was helping his uncle bag up drugs at the age of 6, you realised he never really had a  chance.
