Mr Meisner might have checked out but he will never leave.

Parky was part and parcel of Saturday evenings when I was a kid. That and MotD and often a Hammer House of Horror film too. A sad loss.

Parky - sad loss. When doing his national service he was, I believe, a press liasion officer and took part in the Suez landings in 1956.

Parky's interviews with Billy Connolly were always my favourites, along with some of Peter Kay's appearances too.  He went to school with my grandad in Barnsley, along with Dickie Bird from memory, although I think they were both a couple of years younger.
