Ah! Jane Birkin. Fond memories of a teenage me playing "Je t'aime, moi non plus" at a church jumble sale and realising no one knew enough French to understand the words so playing it again.

A quick word for UK crooner Vince Hill (86) a staple of 70s TV Variety and, less enjoyably, creator of election songs for Maggie Thatcher in 1979 & 1983.

Also hats off for newsreader George Alagiah (67), who has finally lost his fight against bowel cancer.
