Hi,

I realize that this is a stretch but I was wondering whether in the vast catalogue of Pendraken ranges there might be somewhere some dog sleds lurking or failing that somehting that could be reasonably easily converted into a sled.  On a quick look, i could not see any but I would be very gratefull for any pointers if there are.

Hello quasar42

Don't know of any dog sleds in 10mm but you could use a card model:-

with Pendraken dogs:-

For more husky like dogs (depending on what type of dog sleds you are looking for) the wolves that the goblin wolf riders are on might do, assuming they don't have saddles? Pendraken will do non-standard packs for a very modest bump in per-figure costs.

What do you intend using them for ?

For the dogs..there are the dire wolves in the Warband Eldritch Vampire  army...(FAN-VAM 7)

It's a long, long time since I tweaked those, but I think they might be a tad on the large side, if they were intended to be used with 'historical' figures.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I want to use the sleds for a winter themed DnD campaign (Rime of the Frist Maiden).  So historical accuracy or precision in scale is not that important. I was also tinking of sleds pulled by the very nice bears that are now in the Pendraken range.

I play DnD with my kids with single based 10mm figures and it is fantastic because it gives more space and provides access to a wide range of figures at limited cost and time for painting. The Pendraken dungeon accessories and furniture pieces are also very handy.

Some sledges would be good to add to the 'Modern' / Falkland range for the Royal Marine Commandos - for use in Norway/Artic warfare as well.

Surly a  basic Sled in 10mm could be made using card and some thick copper wire  ( ie from 2.5 T&E)

I presume we're looking for something along these lines, quasar42?

If so, how about one of the Achaemenid Persian chariots, minus the horses, wheels and Cyrus/ Xerxes but with bears and scratch built skis?

Sometimes, I feel that the Pendraken Forum 'Hive Mind' is an amazing thing!  :)
You can think of Dog Sleds for US vs Canada, 1812, Finns winter War... military sleds for WW2 or Falklands... or Bear sleds for Fantasy... OUT OF THE BOX!
Keep it up!  8) :)

That polar bear drawn sledge is cool - great suggestion on chariots as a base.  I have actually a pack of 6mm propeler driven WW2 Russian sledges lying around which come with spare skis.

Pendraken will sell part packs at a slight price increase. Don't know if Leon would sell you just the chariot body but it's worth an ask.
