Good to see you've got ITLSU working for late war

Yep, in the end we are playing the rules as written - it was the scenario that needed a bit of work. For 1914 balance is much easier as we tended to go with meeting engagements to reflect the fluid battles early on.

Nice game report!

Another Irish hero of myth and legend is Finn MacCool, alternatively a heroic human and a mighty giant scooping out lakes, kicking up causeways and pretending to be a wee baby to scare off a Manx giant.

Though both quite early for a renaissance era army. 

The various fair folk give some possibilities. The Tuatha Dé Danann are one of the inspirations for the modern fantasy high elves, as well as many of the gods and goddesses of Celtic myth, e.g. Lugh and his firey spear and the dark Morrigan, goddess of war. There's also the more mischievous Leprechaun's, Far darrig's (Red Man) and the like.

For Cuchulainn's fancy chariot could you use the Gallic chariot (AGA 7) but replace the horses with "uparmoured" ones from the scythed chariot (PER 17) in the Achamenid Persian range? There are plenty of suitable spear armed figures in the Gallic range for the big man himself. Purhaps add a Gallic hornblower or standard bearer (or a draco type Late Roman standard?) riding in the chariot (if room) to mark it out as a special unit?

Glad you liked it, we are finding ITLSU a really good set of rules. We have likely played more games of it this year than anything else, and most with both players remote.

Good suggestions, I'd been wondering about the Gallic chariot, but adding the Persian horses would work well. The extras sound good too.

Some more good ideas, a giant is always a good option, and the Red Man might work although they seem fairly solitary, but the Red Caps from Anglo Scots lore are close, who seem to have been more in gangs. As to time periods, as they are likely to end up against Orcs or Undead, I'm not sure this is too important!

Well if I was doing it I'd look at the horses and axles from the Persian scythed chariot, moved to the Gallic Chariot and use the figures from the Gallic Foot command....

WWII Game - Hannaut 1940

This was a game from a couple of weeks ago - played face-to-face, with plenty of space for the 3 of us

The right flank - the might R35s move up - and roll rather well against the Panzers!

Overall the German attack was rather stalled at this point. We felt we hadn't really got the scenario right - as the forces were approximately equal, but the French were in defensive positions.

I've run out of sashimono a couple of times now. Got a big batch in my latest order but burn through them so quickly! Even just adding to a handful of troops per unit. I am going to attempt making some of my own banners for some of the styles not covered by existing offerings, such as the horo (the balloon style cloak) and the multiple small flags, but hard to beat the standard rectangular sashimono.

I've thought about the horo cloaks - feel they out to be makable from green stuff. But who knows!

Yes sashimono do seem to be needed in large numbers. I've printed the designs for mine which makes adding them very straight forward, but still a fair number of steps to the process

Yeah I'm thinking green stuff for the horo too. Plan to use them for individually based "messengers" and maybe for some of the hatamoto too. For the coloured flag style hopefully a bit of wire and paper will do the job.
