Hello

Looking at the cards for Irregular Wars, there are any number of blank playing card templates for Word, some here https://www.printablee.com/post_blank-playing-card-printable-template-for-word_364105/.

The text for all the cards are in the rules, so just a matter of filling in the cards and printing off the results on thin card or paper and gluing them to playing cards. I used to have a PDF of A4 size cards for the game but I can't find it now. Will have a look again.

Cheers

Irregular Wars is a good set for "Back of beyond" sort of settings.
Claims to cover 1500 - 1700.

My interests are around the Indian Ocean 1500 - 1580 ish, so I can't comment much on King Philip's War.

There's a lot of Randomness with dicing for army composition, straggling and disease losses and cards for events during the game.
This can result in some blowout games, but one side can always "Run away", then reset the game and play another.

The randomness can also be reduced using points for armies, and (Dare I say it) omitting the cards.
