Big Insect

They look the business - nice Perry sculpts for GW.

I have a 28mm HoTT army using them as my 'Hordes' - with the GW Balrog as a 'God', a Cave Troll as a 'Behemoth' and some Bat swarms as 'Flyers'.
Generally it is either Fantastically successful (e.g. the Balrog turns up and sticks around killing just about everything) or it is catastrophically unsuccessful (e.g. the Balrog doesn't turn up at all or makes a brief and useless appearance). I think it has only ever won one game without the Balrog. I usually have the Goblin General as a 'Warband General' - but that often turns out to be the Achilles' heel of the army - so I am starting to play him as a 'Horde General' instead.

It is one half of a matched pair of armies - fighting against my Fellowship of the Ring army - consisting of:

Strider (Aragorn) - 'Hero General'
Gandalf - 'Wizard'
Frodo - 'Sneaker'
Boromir - 'Blade'
Gimli - 'Blade
Legolas - 'Bowmen'
Sam, Pippin & Merry - each as a 'Warband'
and finally - Gollum as a 'Lurker'

Both armies are 24 AP each. I'll have to dig them out and post some photos now I am getting the hang of that (to a certain degree)

Yes, the LOTR models are very nice. I have a great deal of armies for that: Rohan, gondor, numenor, high elves, isengard, moria and mordor.

Never played HOTT, but am actually paintng these to put them to use with dragon rampant.
