One hell of an innnings and a great life for sure. The BBC has a good obituary to catch up on all that he did and was involved in. Poor old QEII without her companion for over 70 years.

My late brother took part in carriage driving events for the disabled, which were often held alongside the event for able-bodied contestants. As a result I met "The Chooky Embra" briefly, a handful of times. A true gentleman, sharper than his reputation might suggest and with a dry and wicked sense of humour.
