Last year a new checkout person at the local Supermarket asked a customer for ID to confirm her age and called over the supervisor to check the ID

The supervisor apologised to customer and explained to the new person that you only had to check ID if there was any doubt about age

The customer, a women in her 80s, responded that there was no need to apologise and being asked for ID had "made her day"
