Has anyone ever tried using wee brushes with very long bristles to paint lines/stripes ?

It's only something that's occured to me after I saw a bit of a TV show called "The repair shop", that Von was watching the other day.
The operative was using a brush like that to paint 'lines'......OK.....On something somewhat larger than a 10mm figure, but I'd imagine the principal would be the same.

She seemed to have MUCH more control doing the lines with a long bristle brush......because it holds (relatively) much more paint, and so she could do the lines much more smoothly.

Just a thought...Never tried it myself.....I'm not even sure that brushes like this, suitable for painting wee figures, even exist.

Cheers - Phil :)

I remember seeing a episode on TV during the lockdown of "How do they do it" or some such like title about making Bentley's (the cars).

They had one employee who did ALL the pinstriping on the cars that they made by freehand using long bristle brushes that you discribe Techno. Looked like he had been there for a while so he must have had a fair bit of practice, and a very steady hand.....amazing skill to watch.

Very nice Lemmey  :-bd

I'm afraid my dockyard is a bit slower - still got to do the deck striping - before they are ready to hit the table.

One of the best "what if" Naval settings is France Vs Italy in the Med (Assuming WW2 didn't break out).

Hmmm......French.....haven't got any of them yet......should I make another trip to Warehouse Stationary to send a fax to Navwar?  :- O:-)

That's useful to know Ian thanks.

But haven't you already got the entire USN and IJN in 1/3000th Paul  ;)

I'm investing (yes that is the right word  :) ) in some flight deck decals as I have the Navwar WW2 carriers I need.....some post WW2 ones would be useful for me 2021 "master plan"......not that the 2020 one is going particularly well so far thanks to COVID-19.

Not all of them, not even all the capital ships, only 251 including some Dutch and a few Commonwealth ;)

I should probably get the USS Robin, found out about her yesterday :)

She was captured from the Russians and was excessively buoyant, if the song is to be believed.

Still more than enough I should think  ;)

The "USS Robin" is on my wish list, albeit in postwar guise with a big bit welded on the side and a dustbin on top of the island.....

Spent a bit more time with the Italians last night doing ships boats and recoating all the foredecks as the white paint I have (Tamiya Flat White) needs several coats to get a good coverage......yes I do mix it really well first.

Also assembled laser cut bases for 8 additional Irish units for Benburb. It will be a while till they are required, but I can get the bases painted and labelled and flags printed for them.....

Meanwhile back to more late war 6mm - several complete packs of 6mm H&R panzergendiers that I got years ago to paint and most of a Russian tank corps to rebase.

Going to need some more 30 x 30 bases and some 60 x 30 ones at this rate - you try and fit a 6mm Tiger or JSII on a 30 x 30 base!!

That would be a neat trick  :)

Got too many 6mm tanks to start collecting 10mm WW2/Modern ones as well.....and too many other projects to finish  O:-)
