Patience Will :-w
I need to base them, hopefully today, then touch up the flock and add banners :!!
They should be done next year ;)

French sorted ready for basing :)

All of the Low Countries army fits on my painting rods as one batch :) #:-S

They should make a nice change from the French, no horses and one batch instead of three

Low Countries undercoated :)

I bought some paint on matt varnish and applied it to the three labels that had fogged :-SS

It appears to have fixed the fogging, will check again when it is fully dry :)

I could be doing quite a bit of varnishing today :!!

I also realised that I will have enough French elements to field four French armies (IV/64c), two based on mounted and two on dismounted men-at-arms :o
I'll also need to select other options appropriately :-B

The paint on varnish fixed the fogging when fully dry :)

I made the most of the good weather and spent the day doing multiple batches of varnishing :!!

All the painted and based HYW figures are now varnished :)

I needed to paint varnish all the labels, some needed it more than others

I also needed to paint varnish some but not all the banners :-/

I'll hopefully get the last batch of French based this morning :!!

Blimey you're racing through this lot, be interesting to see the 6/8 complete armies in action sometime later in the year....

Glad the brush on varnish sorted your clouding issue.....overall the Valjello matt spray varnish is OK?

Low Countries undercoated :)

You must have needed quite a large brush!
I don't drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.

paulr

The few hats done on the Low Countries :)

French are now ready for varnishing :) the weather doesn't like like it will cooperate tomorrow :(

All foot makes it a pretty quick army to paint ;)

The Valjello matt spray varnish is good on the figures and the brush on sorts the labels and any flags that fog :) #:-S

I spray undercoat, no brush required ;)

The weather has been more cooperative than expected, the French are now varnished :) :)

I had to touch up one of the labels and interestingly the spray varnish did not fog on the painted area of the label but did on the printed part :-\

Good progress on the Low Countries army:

  • remaining hoods done :)
  • wood done :)
  • Shoes/boots done :)
  • half the belts and scabbards done :)
