I'm sad again , no one like my Porte-Fanion idea for the Franco-Prussian and Napleonic Wars. I think it would make the Battalion and Regiments loot not only correct but also quite special.

I agree with you privateer, I play at battalion level and port-fanions are a must.

I don't know much about fanions - I mean, I know they were some sort of flag that are somehow unlike "colours" but what exactly were they and where and when were they used?   If it matters(it probably does) I am most likely to use this for FPW.

Leon

I'm struggling to find any pics other than with flags attached to the bayonet?

1811 Regulation
One colour/eagle per regiment, carried by 1st battalion. The other battalions have plain fanions (2d white, 3d red, 4th blue, 5th green, 6th yellow, 7th violet, 8th sky blue). Fanions were carried on a spear.

I don't know about FPW but may be something similar.

This is what they look like, can't find a line regiment one but they were the same

Greetings

Whenever I've thought about this I've decided it's better handled by conversion of an infantryman (not that I've tried this yet). Battalion and company fanions seem to have been of different sizes.

Hi,
a few years ago I bought some FP packs, but onestly I didn't like them: too gnomish looking pose. I know now that some of your 19th century range were re-modelled (especially the 1870 Prussian). Is the same for the 1870 French? And what about for the othere ranges? Planned or already done?

Thanks, Alex.

Leon

The French, Prussians, Wurttemburgers, Bavarians, Hanoverians and half of the Austrians (cavalry, command, artillery, greatcoat) are all new sculpts.

Many thanks for your answer! A really good work!  :)

While I'm thinking about the items I will order.. where can I find some photos of the new sculpts?

Alex.

Hello, I bought the brunswickers for the FPW and I am very pleased with it. Brunswick also had a battery of artillery. Do you plan to do it someday?

There's no plans for it, the Brunswickers themselves were a request from another customer.  I'll make a note of the request though and see if we get any more interest.

Hi LM,

I am the guy who requested the Brunswickers, and like you I really like the result. But I too needed the batteries.  As in my scale the battery is only one gun I thought I could get by with a minimalist conversion. I crewed a 6pdr with three officer figures - one as cast, and two with the sword cut off.  One of these I placed close enough to the wheel to look as if he was adjusting the alignment, the other I gave  a rammer sliced off an old Prussian gunner.  Looks reasonable and does the job.

Hope this helps,

Mollinary
