 The close-up shows one of the infantry engagements in the centre. Brummage's regiment (green) outshooting Mason's (red). One of three such contests, all favouring King Charles, as was right and proper. My shooting dice were far better this time.

An impetuous advance cost me Hopton and musch of his regiment, but Rupert led the Lifeguard, with support from Newcastle's Whitecoats, to destroy the Lobsters, capture Fairfax, and win the battle. Just as well the Roundhead morale broke when it did; my left was about to discover what Cromwell and his Ironsides could do to a turned flank.

In ECW games I have played the Royalists always seem to either win spectacularly or else fold disasterously.

Mmm, likewise. And the decisive stroke is always given by the victorious cavalry. Accurate enough, as I recall.

Obviously they were drunk, so hardly surprising.....musch of his regiment, indeed (Shome mishtake shooorly.)  ;)

I think musch was a bit of lah-di-dah Cavalier affectation. Musch have been.

Congrats. Pity you didn't have a slightly better camera, Kitty (unless it's my computer? but I don't think so) because these look like a whole bunch of well-painted minis.   :-bd

I would love to see more high res pics of your armies sometime as you seem to have a large variety painted up! Would you ever consider using Imgur or the like to upload images rather than the attachment size restrictions that the forum has?
