Lord Kermit of Birkenhead

Was on lunchtime news - at the BAFTA's - could not speak, so in many ways a relief for his family. A sad loss though.

What better epitaph than being the person who brought enjoyment to millions.

He's a very naughty boy.

Dr Dave

Spent a week of the summer in Israel - went to Jerusalem and the mount of the beatitudes to cries of "stop picking your nose" and "he's not the messiah - he's a very naughty boy"

So very very funny. A genuine talent and a great loss.

The Pythons shaped my adult sense of humour. Terry Jones was a passionate historian too. Sad to hear but perhaps a relief given his condition. :(

I think I heard that 'Auntie' is going to broadcast a tribute tonight......The radio presenter quoting " A waffer theen mint"..

I'd bet the response from Mr Creosote won't be broadcast, if it's before the watershed.  :)

Cheers - Phil

Is this Hesitation or Deviation?

Nicholas Parsons, host of BBC Radio 4's Just a Minute, has died aged 96 after a short illness  :(

Quite mournful about his passing: one of those voices that has been there all my life!

Bit of personal history gone. One of the few wireless shows I've ever really enjoyed.

What an innings and loved 'Just a Minute'.

Techno

Awwww.....

That IS really sad....'Just a minute' was a classic, gentle, comedy show..And so enjoyable...NP was the perfect host.

(I didn't realise he'd reached that age.)

Cheers - Phil  :(

To miss only two recordings in over fifty years - and both of them only recently - is amazing going.

Well, they managed to replace Humphrey Lyttelton on I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue, so possibly, but who knows.  Maybe do the same thing they did there: get three presenters to take a few episodes each in the next series and see who gels best?  :-\

What a magnificent life, doing something you love for over fifty years, well into your nineties, with all your marbles to the end. Bravo!
