So, what were the hounds from Border Wars for? In mortal Gods:Mythic, you can have Hounds in The Hera faction. (It says she may have borrowed them from Artemis). So, Hounds, a Priestess and Medusa (by Trish Carden). Looking to mix up the game so I am not playing the Heroes all the time, this was the faction no one had at the club (although Mark has started his own version too, so we might have to have a Hera off to decide the strongest temple)! I will use Thea from Bad Squiddo as the force hero, add in the Temple Guard to the phalanx, and think about what else to get to boost this lot. Grip, Wolf and Fang from my LOTR Hobbit forces might also get added in to make a second Hound unit. Kunds are cheap, not ery powerful, but will be great on the flanks being a distraction.

Medusa (or Deborah to all Slack Wyrm fans) is one tall girl! I couldn't help adding a bit of metal flash as a snake to her base though.

The wings of Medusa are full of detail, without being too gimmicky. Plus the Priestess is in a halterneck dress!

On the hunt

Medusa is soooo light! Resin case and great fun to assemble and paint.

They just need suitable names now.

This month's batch of Mortal God's figures, some new, some old.

Athenians - bought when the rules first came out in 2019, just after doing evveryone elses's stuff, I had lost the mojo to do these, plus my Thespians have been serving me well. But, with the great shed tidy, and continued popularity amoung my friends, it was about time. The Athenian set had lead heroes, and plastic hoplites/peripoli, but I decide that I can use any of my other hopilites to fill in for teh citizens, and that actaully, I sould get on with the lead.

Athenian Marine hoplites - regular state troops, as opposed to my irregular Thespians

Not too powerful in game, but add colour, more likely to stop and feast on their kills than to fight.

Someone for Herakles to beat up!

Here kitty kitty

No, not you Alexander!

An extra shield to upgrade Bad Squiddo Thea

Euryale. The less famous Gorgon sister
