Not yet - but kiwidave, SteveJ & I have this planned for Colours this year I think  :)

Although the DVD is on my shopping list, of course  ;)

I bought it just before Christmas and handed it to the Mrs, so she wrapped it nicely and gave it to me as my present  ;)

How are people getting on?????

Here's my progress... not including anything thats not 10mm I have got through the following:

Quote from: Nosher on 30 December 2010, 01:15:56 PM
Purely in 10mm I aim to complete my 100YW/WoR Collection and that Kallistra Castle I bought earlier this year... like that will EVER be completed as I just keep adding to the collection! :-[ I'd also forgotten I had that castle so must dig it out!

Pendraken stuff (all of which I have the figures for but am steadily working on)
Saxons, Vikings and Normans - Saxons and Normans FINISHED
Medieval Scots, Welsh - NOT STARTED
TYW Swedes and Imperial Germans - added to AND FINISHED
ECW Royalist and Parliamentarian - undercoated and based
Samurai - dont ask... embarassingly still in its bags!

*Cough* :-[MM Minis :-[Cough (all of which I have the figures for but am steadily working on)
Crusader and Arabs - Just started
Byzantines, Rus and Carolingian Frankish - still all in its bags!!

I have lodas more in 6mm through to 28mm, but will keep this one on topic!
I don't think my wife likes me very much, when I had a heart attack she wrote for an ambulance.

I am making excellent progress on a number of projects that have nothing to do with the projects I thought I would do 8 months ago.

Last Hussar

Lets see, 75% of the way through the year

Finish my WSS - hence the order you just received.  Need 2 more artillery packs , plus one to chop to make hit markers, plus casualties and first fire markers (these final bits will allegedly be bought in January).
This has been expanded further.  Is now topping out at 18 Infantry units (36 men) which are all done, and 14 Cavalry (12 men) of which 8 are done, 3 half finished but actively being dressed, and 3 waiting.  These are to be finished by the start of December, along hopefully with 18 first fire markers, and various casualties.  Have 7 Generals markers, plus 1 C in C in carriage.  May add some dismounted dragoons.  Anything after the cavalry are finished are bells and whistles, but definately on the home stretch.

Vietnam for "Charlie Don't Surf"  Next up after the WSS.  After 36 man Bns, 120 men a side moderns will hopefully be a lot easier (I painted 3 36 man bns in 2 days, so Olive drab should be easy!)

Rebase, then add to ACW, placing them all on 30mm bases and increasing density of the figures. Rebased.  Need to add more as only 24ish bases per side now.  They have gone from 3 on a 1 and 1/8 inch by 3/4 inch to 7 on a 30mm square.

Get back to ECW to actually have two usable armies. Not touched - blame the WSS (the biggest army I have ever done)

Alledgedly start 10mm Napoleonics with the new 2011 Ranges. Kids have dipped their toes in

Add more Germans to my 20mm "TW&T" forces. Bought from Plasitic Toy Soldier Coy

More 25/28 French for "Sharpe Practice" No.  Decisions on numbers of French and basing for both sides need to be made.

This may not be all done in the next 12 months, but then that's then me finished painting forever! In General this is still the aim, though I expect to be continually tacking stuff on over the years.
I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain why you are wrong.

Hello,

Continue with researching the 2nd Anglo-Boer War before commiting to purchasing the range in 10 mm. Oh and "Kop That" when its released will be handy.

Continue with my 28 mm WW2 South-West Pacific Japanese and USMC Raiders.

Paint up 28 mm vignettes of periods of my choosing from various companies an adding scenics where required ... as these can be used for future games.

Ciao,

Finished Marlburian for the moment. Imperials/Palatinate next, but switching periods for the moment.
Starting 1866 soon - Western Theatre. Will take some time.
Would also be starting 1859, but no Guard Voltigeurs command.
Crimea - Alternative to 1859 but again will be on hold awaiting command as above.

C'est la vie.

Good idea to check how far people have gotten with their painting / gaming plans.

My SSOM rules are on schedule, table for Crisis is reserved, rules are being tested in the club, and I'm painting the 'last few' Germans  :D so my WWII stuff is on target.

My RQ  miniatures are advancing very well, but I have been ordering so many extra characters - thay have all been painted, mind you - that there is a slight delay.  Still, the biweekly RPG session is motivating enough to keep me painting whenever I have a bit of  time, and I am getting better  at having lots of short sessions: before if I did not have a few hours at once, I would not bother, but I found it works way better to paint every day, even if just 30 minutes.  i have reorganized my hobby room to make that possible.

Warhammer i have not advanced one bit.  no time nor interest.

Have also bought FPW armies & stuff for VBCW...

Other:
28mm Napoleonic skirmish: paint British Line Infantry & French Voltigeurs [Rifles, Spanish Guerillas & Clergy already done] - done the French, decided not to do British line

Consolidation:
Sell everything that I've not touched in 12 months and won't touch in next 3 - and be ruthless with this! - not been quite as ruthless...

Steve J

God, I can't remember my plans for this year. I have however been very ruthless and have sold off or am in the process of selling off stuff that I simply never play with. This has allowed me to focus on games that I really enjoy playing (BKCII and stable mates) and to make progress on my 10mm lead pile.

The only downside is that it has released cash that is allowing me to add to said lead pile!

1) Finish X Corp Prussians for 1870 done, split into two batches, large division done earlier in the year, odds and sods finished now - just got to flock the bases
1.5) Base up my 1815 15mm Anglo-Allied (to be done at same time as I base X Corp) Oh them, yeah, done!
2) 1870 Wurttenburg Division Just flocking too
3) 15mm Napoleonics to be expanded to 'new rulesets' NOT happening, using what we've got and waiting for 10mm 1806 Prussians
4) Not sure... Turned out to be rather lovely Pendraken AWI, really happy with these, just flocking these too (okay, so I do large batches of flocking!), and some halflings  :D
Which leaves me:
5) 15mm village and 80 trees that I painted and based for a Flames Competition
and now I can go onto...
6) French VI Corps (order for 2nd Division to go in for Warfare)
To finish the year off nicely!

My update:
- Continue with my 10mm AWI Project.
I hope to have enough units finished by next summer to run a few games at local game days and then at MillenniumCon next November.
Continuing. I ran a game last month and will run a game at millenimcon. The project continues to grow a more awi are released.

- Dabble in 1:300 scale WWII air-to-air combat. But using prepainted planes I don't have to worry about taking time away from my other painting projects.
project is dead

- Try to ignore 10mm FPW or any mid-19th century European conflict. I have an old army pack of 1860's Italians around here somewhere that I acquired but never painted for a campaign that never got off the ground. Maybe this time next year...
failed. I'm starting on my fpw armies.

- Keep putting off my 10mm ACW project. For various reasons my big unpainted pile of ACW is a mish-mash of various manufacturers. I kind of put this on hold as I never really liked the figures that I had until my fairly local game store started stocking Pendraken. I just need to sell what I already have and then go strictly with Pendraken.
successfully put off this project for another year!

- play at least 1 historical miniatures game where I don't have to supply the figures, create the scenario and GM the game.
failed. Seems like I do all the work and don't get to roll dice in anger.

- Move from a "Cadet" poster to a proper officer!
success. I'm now a 2nd lt.

- Finish at the top of the Pendraken Forum EPL fantasy league :)
close but no cigar. After leading for a number of weeks I couldn't hold on in the end and placed 2nd. I'm moving up the table in the current campaign though!

i also added WWII US paratroopers which I'm painting for a friend and am also starting early war French and Germans

Howdy Shecky,

Ever thought about gaming 1848-49 Italian and Hungarian revolts?

You are a stronger man being able to shelf ACW for another time   :D   =D>
