They don't stand flat if you don't file the bases down!
Dremel.

I'm now a two Dremel person (I inherited the 2nd) - one for drilling, one for scraping bottoms.

Does life get any sweeter?

You could have a third with a cutting wheel.

With an 8 inch bastard file leveling bases flat takes no time at all. Plus for quiet solace and contemplation on the cosmic all I listen to such musical luminaries as Blind Guardian, Rammstein, Gloryhammer, Sabaton -very historical their music- AC/DC et al.

Not long found out that Mott the Hoople are at Ramblin Man at the end of June. RESULT!!!!! Play me cards right I might even get to interview who's left of them. :)

Hmmm, interesting. Haven't heard of them before but so far, not too bad. Definitely racked up the old volume on the drums.

May i suggest by Manowar:

power of my sword
demon's whip
ride the dragon
dark avenger
bridge of death
the power
the gods made heavy metal
!blood of my enemies!

Also, if you like drums, then "drums of doom" might please as well.

Just got them up on Spotify, will give them a good listen.

Yep, I always wanted to be a drummer when I was a younger but real life got in the way. However, amongst his many talents, my youngest lad is a drummer and played Jerry Allison in the Buddy Holly Story in the West End a few years ago. He also played Mick Avory from the Kinks in Sunny Afternoon, another West End production. He's a talented git.

The drumming is quite good on the tracks from a group called Soar (pronounced Shore) Patrol, a Scottish heavy rock band that uses pipes and drums to great effect.

I believe you (or maybe Westie or Ithoriel) first mention Soar Patrol to me - excellent walking music - drives you right along.
Also:
I am a man who walks alone
And when I'm walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park

When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when it's dark.

I bought a small grinding wheel from Screwfix some months ago.  Well worth the £20 quid it cost.  It speeds up the process and takes all (most) of the grief out of it.  You can also do your nails at the same time.
