Fortunately, "Union Jack" or "Union Flag" are both correct.

Actually they aint. Union jack refers to the Union Flag when flown from the jackstaff of a ship at anchor. In all other circumstances its a Union Flag.

The Union Jack ... why is this on the Top Totty thread? ... was deemed a perfectly acceptable term for the flag in other circumstances in 1908.

Actually not true, it is the (possible) etymology, but not strict usage anymore.  HM is happy with 'Jack'

I think that's something to do with the average age of the forum.  The response is either

1 She looks fantastic, BUT she is young enough to be my Daughter / Grandaughter.
2 I can't remember what you actually do with a naked woman
3 Where are my little blue pills
4 If I could remember and find the little blue pills i don't think I could keep up.

Obviously some of us don't have this problem  :d
