Hi Paul. I use magnetic vinyl on bases also. The first pack I had the self adhesive was excellent (and still is) but the second batch (same manufacturer) does not do the job. I have ended up using glue sticks on the base then applying the vinyl. Have you run into any issues? Do you use a secondary adhesive and if so what. Thanks.
Encumbered by Idjits, we pressed on

I buy my magnetic vinyl from a sign writers supply store, it comes in a roll (26" wide) and I usually get a metre at a time and it lasts me a year or so

I use PVA (white glue) to glue it to the underside of my bases

The sun has mostly cooperated :)

Barber's Battalion

The third stand is three New Jersey Line companies so have lower morale and do not get "shock" in melee, to assist with identification on table two of the companies are slightly stepped back

As detachments, none for the line companies as they can't skirmish

And finally the three detachments from spare figures I had, these will combine with the detachments above to allow me to field two battalions (giving a total of 6 in 2 brigades)

That is the last of the Americans, on to the first lot of British :!!

The plan is to do Benedict Arnold's British force as these will be historic opponents of similar strength, then christen both forces in battle.
The dynamic should be quite different to the southern armies as the Americans have the better troops :o

Saddle clothes and jackets base coated on the British, German and Loyalist mounted officers and the Queen's Rangers Dragoons :)

Looking forward to seeing them in action. Can't make my mind up whether to carry on with my AWI forces as they stand at present. Tempted to scale down to skirmish level actions only and concentrate of the SYW instead.
