Too many figures...

This week I was in the process of composing a list of figures and vehicles to be bought for my birthday. So half way through I thought I'd check my German box of stuff, only to discover I already had some of the items on the list. Then I discovered I had duplicates of others, that I simply can't remember buying :o! Now I'm sure I'm not the only one to have experienced this, but it has prompted me to start assembling stuff, just so that I know what I actually have. When I get round to painting them is another matter entirely...

Sunray

Yes, been there and done that.  I currently have a company of Falklands British who have gone AWOL .
I have checked all the 10mm, now shaking down the 6mm unpainted.

Annoying element of too many birthdays.

Sorry ... too many figures?

If you find you have 2 companies of Panzers and only 1 of Pz Gren, then obviously the problem is not enough Pz Gren?

I totally agree, what is this alien concept of "too many figures".

Steve J are you absolutely sure you are a wargamer?  Because if your adhering to this strange concept  I would wonder if we had an imposter on the forum  :)

This is one of the reasons why I started a list if armies wot I got. So far I have done all the painted ones. Still trying to build up the necessary courage to tackle the unpainted chaps.

I ordered some Prussian hussars only to discover I had already bought them only 2 months previously.

It's the forgetting the stuff that I have that is the problem. The wife has a problem with the amount of stuff that I have ;)

fred.

I don't think I have got to the stage of buying stuff twice, yet. Well perhaps some Orcs, but really its quite hard to determine if these count as buying stuff twice, or merely expanding the size of the army...

But I have certainly looked at stuff I have bought and wondered quite what I was intending to do with it.

Now seriously, when i started my 1000 models painting challenge in january, i thought i would get almost entirely through my "unpainted pile " if i painted a 1000 models. Now that i am nearing the end of my challenge, i am nowhere near the end of my  unpainted pile  :O)

They do add up quickly!

I had some trouble making a "want" list for crisis this year though. There is not that much anymore that i want to add gaming wise, so i'm starting to add to what i have now instead of starting new projects. Wich is not that bad actually, you can go buy some of the more 'exotic' (read: pricey) items that you didn't get before because you 'have so much more that you still need, so these expensive ones have to wait"

Too...many...figures...too...many.........No, I just don't get it.  :o

I.... MAY.... have gone to the local game store and saw a figure on the shelf and thought, "Hey!  I've been meaning to get that guy," and then proceeded to purchase said figure.  And then a few days later received another copy of the same figure in the mail/post a few days later because I had also ordered it online the week before.  I'm not saying this DID happen... only that it MAY have happened.  Ahem.

Both these sound very familiar in my case too........"but I only need another 1200 10mm figures for my complete W3K project dear"  8->
