First thread in the warband forum, thought I'd put it here as it is aimed at Dark elves and other fantasy armies... What are your paint scheme's? So far I'm going for more the traditional purple and gold, with gun metal armour pieces, black hair, pale skin... So how have you done your armies, dark elf or not... And how do I post an image? Haha

I haven't painted Dark Elves (I have a GW Warmaster army but they're not painted) but for my High Elves I went with a Red, White and Black scheme inspired by the Ii Clan Samurai I'd painted immediately before. It may not be conventional but it's striking!

Inspiration for colour schemes can come from unlikely sources.

Mine are drow inspired. Silver steel armour, white jackets, white hair, blue-grey skin, white eyes and hair. As featured https://m.imgur.com/a/2CEc5

More or less the same as yours Moggy, mine are GW figures organized and based for Hordes of The Things.  Pics on the blog but they are all out of focus  :( Something else I need to re-do.

All very nice, but I do like Will's - very Elric of Melnibone!

FWIW, I see elves, good or bad with milky white skin, and good elves in predominant green, while dark elves in predominant black with some purple thrown in somewhere. My HOTT LotR elves will be as the former, but are not painted yet. I will probably use a hobby store paint called bleached sand for their skin.

Red, purple, black, and steel all seem appropriate...

...but ultimately, "whatever you like" is the right choice.  :)

One of our group has a Warmaster Dark Elf army comprised entirely of figures intended to be Wood or High Elves which includes Lancers on Dark Unicorns to replace the raptor riders.
