These guys have easy faces to paint because the amount of skin showing is limited, and you only really have to worry about the head on view.

I've started to put a bit of paint on the king and his bodyguard.

For reasons unknown I decided to attempt a bit of freehand.  Otherwise mostly shading and washes.  Eventually I'll work out a color scheme on the raven whisperer.

If your talking about the 'chain' on the king's cloak I'd suggest the reason is you're bloody good at freehand ;) :)

It was a matter of bitching and moaning about how my brush was misbehaving the paint not really flowing and my brush control not really feeling right being pretty sure I was going to have to start over  but each time I held the little guy out at arms length saying "not too bad".

In other words better to be lucky than good.
