Although now I want to watch Excalibur again, I have a serious soft spot for it. Also, Helen Mirren in fantasy-goth outfits is not unhelpful in its popularity. Quickly FSN, to the Top Totty thread!

I remember enjoying it at the time, but gritty? It was on at teatime, early Saturday evening. Think there's a limit to how gritty you can get at that time of the day!

Gritty for sure. Murder, black magic, rapacious aristo's who are vicious and rapacious, and everything covered in mud :D Also, they kill characters :D Although the boob quotient is low compared to GoT, to be sure!

I'll suggest Excalibur to the other half tonight, see if it floats :)

Cheers for the info. I obviously didn't know that about lager, and always thought it some't different. Obviously, being a Yorkshire man, I only ever drank, either, Tetley's, John Smith's, or Theakston and then it was Bitter that I supped  ;)

Never heard of (or seen) Excalibur, if I'm honest.   
Rimmer: "Aliens."
