Looking for 1500/1600-ish militia type armed with pistol(s)

Hi all,

For my 10mm 9th Age (A fan made 9th Warhammer edition) I am searching for Empire Militia armed with pistol(s). However, I haven't found one suitable figure. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Is that foot or mounted, and are you looking for just pistols or other weapons at the same time, and by empire militia do you mean like the pseudo-not quite but mostly landsknectes of the old GW Empire range that were the various "state troops" with halberds/sword & shield/spears or xbows/arquebuses?

From what I recall of Empire Milita, I think it will be foot and not really Landsneckt styled - the militia where a bit more basic in dress and equipment.

That said I can't think of any Pendraken pistol armed foot figures from this sort of period.

The best option is probably the GW Warmaster Empire Skirmishers. Not sure how available these are on eBay.

The only Pendraken ones I can think of armed with pistol and close to the time frame are mounted. EC10, which has one guy pointing a pistol.

Is there anything in the Beggars codes that would do with a little paint conversion maybe? I doubt there's any one with pistols on foot but there might be something in the LoA range command or similar maybe?

Or you take a swordsman and cut it down and squeeze it?

I'd wondered about something similar ML.

Take the EC2 pikeman with grounded pike. Snip the pike off just below the hand to leave just enough to represent the butt of the pistol. Bend the upper part of the pike to form a barrel and trim to desired length. Add detail with Milliput or Green Stuff to taste.

Of course step one is, speak nicely to Leon and see if you can have a pack of EC2 pikemen with just that one pose.

For variation mix in officers as ML suggests.

Is that an viable option?
