Although I am still working on Weird War and Post Apocalyptic, I am at the same time working on a 15 MM Russian DBN army of Tsar Paul I army of 1796-1801. I am using some old Essex SYW Prussians for the army and it is a lot of fun doing, but oh my! what a lot of detail!

Before you balk at my using SYW Prussians you have to understand that Tsar Paul I was fascinated with Frederick the Great, and so adopted the Prussian style of uniform of Frederick's time, only with green coats. This link will give you some idea of some of the infantry, but the cavalry also wore 1750's Prussian style dress.

Also, if you're not already familiar with this website it is an awesome one for uniforms. However, it does help sometimes to have some prior knowledge when using it, as there are some mistakes. The worst being one whole French listing that is really British. But still a great and free site.

I also am working on some 10 Mm Pendraken ACW guys as well.

Gentlemen,

Thank you for the recommended references. This is an army I've long had an interest in and in my library I have the Suvorov Campaign book, the Eureka guides and the printed copies of the Viskovatov works translated by Mark Conrad. Plus info I've found on the net and a few other bits in other uniform books I ahve.

Here are pictures of the first six elements (hope it works as I am so fed up with photobuckt that I am trying Google Photos).

Terry - Lovely figures.   The artillery in particular look very well painted.

Chad - The Eureka source is excellent - thanks for pointing this out.

Making good progress on phase 2 - the General element is close to being done - Field Marshal Suvorov ,with General of Dragoons, Major General Schreider, as are the 2 elements of Cossacks. The Cuirassiers are a bit slower due to their white uniforms requiring so many coats before I can actually do any other base coating. But today I started adding the facings - violet for the Chernigov Regiment.

Pictures soon,
