ECW on the blocks

Very nice paint work and composition - plus what a great touch the smoking guns are! I have been considering collecting ECW (BCW?) again after selling my 6mm armies many years ago. Was going to go 10mm (Pendraken, of course) then swung to 15mm but this (damn you, Sirrah!) has swung me back to 10mm!  =D> :-bd
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

We will get our respective English and Scots war of the 3 kingdom forces on the table one day D Guy. In our case its a matter of finding a set of rules we are happy with (hopefully FK&P) and the time and $$$$ to progress the project as we are looking at 2000+ figures all up  :o

As Paul has more time and infinitely more painting skills than me we have a long standing agreement that we are both happy with whereby he paints figures for me and l will pay for the equivalent number of figures of his chooaing.

Sounds like I'm going to be busy :o :) :) :) :D

The challenge is finding a set of rules that our regular group is happy with and willing to add to our current dozen or so 'regular' rules :-\

FK&P certainly looks very promising but we will need to have a couple of test games using cardboard markers to confirm one way or the other
Baroque is a good set of rules but wasn't quite compelling enough at add to the list of 'regulars'

Haha... Yes. Took a little experimenting to get the balance right (well for my eye anyway hehe) Trying to make the scale work for me. Wanting the 'massed' look limiting the colour pallet and encouraging tonal repetition seems to help out with achieving that. May not be to everyones taste but it is less work  ;) .....  ;D

Very nice work indeed Tarty....you captured the mass effect really well.

I guess if you're doing Scots Covenanters it becomes a case of "any colour so long as its hodden grey with a blue bonnet"  ;)

the question then becomes what shade is hodden grey......I'm only talking about uniform colours here gentlemen!!  ;D
