A chap called Mal Wright posted his first impressions on the Facebook Blitzkrieg Commander Fan Group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/966826603419493/

"I have been reading the rules since downloading the pdf last Saturday night. I like lots of the changes and the go along with my own thinking. Weapons needed a fire factor against armour and infantry to be separated.  AA guns in ground role and now much more useful. I'm a bit worried there are so many minor detail changes in how the rules operate, because that does slow things down in most games. Especially as there are more of them than one can easily remember. OK I'm getting old, but then so are many historical wargamers.  One thing that puzzles me is how one uses flamethrowers. I get it that a man pack one might need to get up into close combat to be used. But vehicles such as the Churchill Crocodile, the Wasp, Satan and etc. were designed to kill WITHOUT getting into close combat with the target. It was like that in the old rules too, but now they actually get less points in a close combat than a man pack!  Apart from that there are some great additions such as fanatical infantry, green or unreliable infantry and so on, which is something I had introduced myself over the years by reducing their points value.  Another puzzling thing is the profile list. One of the pages actually shows a jeep driving past some marching infantry....and they are taller than the jeep. And if you think about it, vehicles such as the Dingo scout car were not as tall as a man, now were many tankettes. Yet they are lumbered in the same group as vehicles the size of Tiger tanks.
Talking of lumbering, I do like that being in there now for the more awkward vehicles, along with slow firing. It adds a far better touch. The explanation of the command system gets rather complicated and the explanation might need some explanation! :-) But in general I agree with the new way it is organised.  I love what I have read and am very pleased. I just feel there have been too many 'fiddly bits' added, which will slow games down. I can imagine some frantic leafing through pages!   I would not be surprised if many players follow the older rules, but adopt many of the new vehicle and troop statistics."

I think Mal might be moving straight from BKC I to III and has skipped II...
