Fred, I think I am just seeing your thread here and it's delightful! Love your variety of figures and your games look like great fun. Of course it's obvious that which ever side gets the goats is going to be the winner since they also have rabbits!!!!!

The farm animals were fun to now just need to find ways to get them into more games.

Fred, I love painting animals, and one of the best uses I've found is doing the armies of Narnia. And then the animals can talk.....although you might have to talk for them if you know what I mean!!! of course if you do Queen Jadis, then you have more of what I would call demons and creatures.


Anyway, I try to fit animals in when ever I can, and have two other armies that will feature animals when I get around to finishing them - Redwall and Watership Down.

I hadn't really thought of doing a whole army of animals. But the smaller animals very much lend themselves to fitting on command bases of almost any army.

I've just included some cats in my last PD order with a view to trying to use them as cheetah's or lions with my 6mm Sumerian stuff. We'll see how that goes!

Fishmen with crossbows



Got some more of these magister militium fishmen painted up - they are super fast to paint, and give me another 3 units of crossbows, and 3 bolt throwers, which use the Pendraken Goblin bolt throwers.

I'm also soaking the ones I did previously to re-base them on sandy bases to go with the rest of my fishmen army.

Looks really nice but I can't help but feel that the artillery should be mounted on the backs of sharks.
