Commission renaissance batch of about 150 figures almost finished the highlighting stage, then, just flesh, leatherwork, woodwork and heraldry, followed by banners to do. And I thought I was nearly done...
One competition entry finished, next two competition entries up to the basing, sand and pva stage too.

Weather cool enough to paint and hand ok to hold the painting stick today :). So seizing the opportunity, I base coated a Char St Chamand in a funky camo scheme and gave it a Devlin Mud wash, ready for drybrushing tomorrow. In the process I 'found' some tanks I had painted earlier this year but had completely forgotten about  :-[!!!

Tank finished bar a coat of varnish later when everything is dry. Then a search for some possible decals to put on it, if not, off to the Minibits/Pendraken sites for a gander...

Having accidentally broken off a figure on a base of SYW Prussian Jagers the other week, I dug out the 'spares box' to find a replacement to paint up and, whilst pleasantly surprised, didn't know if I should be happy or concerned.

Surprise No.1 was a partially painted Jager figure (result!) which I had started but then stopped painting when first making up the Jager unit but had completely forgotten about (I think I must have decided I had enough figures for the unit and would keep this one to start off a dismounted dragoons unit).

Surprise No.2 was a fully painted and based 15mm ACW Dahlgren Naval Gun & Crew that I had painted earlier in the year and, again, completely forgotten about! 

Has anyone else had similar 'surprises?'   #-o  :-[
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.
