US Paras

Evening all,

I thought I'd grab myself some US Paras as, after playing some Bolt Action, I have an urge to command even more men with guns and tanks! I grabbed a few US Paras not long ago and I finished a stand yesterday. I thought I'd share the result with you all.





I painted another stand's worth of guys (still need to be based) and timed myself. I was pretty surprised that I managed to get through them in 20 minutes. I guess it helps that the primer is also the colour I use for the uniform

If anyone is interested, I airbrush Vallejo IDF Israeli Sand as the primer and then a quick highlight with Desert Tan on the knees, shoulders, top of the back and arms. Red Leather for the boots, Beige Brown for the gun, Gunmetal Grey for the metal on the gun, Brown Violet for the helmet and Green Grey for the pouches. Then I give it a wash with Army Painter's Strong Tone ink. That's probably where the majority of look comes from.

About 80% is uniform which is the primer

Too true! These are almost ideal for it though, as no layer of paint goes over a @fresh@ layer. The only multiple layer is on the uniform and the first layer by default is dry. As nothing ever gets two layers over the primer, it doesn't matter if it's still wet XD
