First unit of the month. It represent a kid-slave caravan. It was a common practice from the very beginning of the islam world (Turks and Fatamids did), to take captive kids and rise them as slave-warriors in the Faith. Some times those kids were kidnapped other times demand as tribute to subjugate territories. The Jenizars and other elite units from different ages were made in this way.

I was inspired with Mihael Viteazul aka The last crusade film. In the first half hour of the film shows this practice, when turkish take the children of the walachs as tribute.

A unit of azabs (turk archers)



a jenizar command. They use a brass pot as standard or a symbol of command. The command titles were cooker titles, like asci basi (Chef of the kitchen) or corbaci basi which means "soup deliverer" and  command one orta (regiment) that could be as equivalent of Coronel....  sooo crazy

More good stuff, are you moving away from WM style basing?

A photography tip - try taking the photos from slightly further away, should help with focus, you can always crop the image before posting.

Picture this morning was quite difficult with kid around.I am afraid still stick to warmaster: Music band is an upgrade of general and sultan is a character.

With those figures I conclude the Ottoman Turk Project. Only need a photo finish, and then I will move on to some goblins and a giant for the Baba Yaga project and some trojan chariots for the bronze age project.

I could plan a lot of non pendraken units.   Is it better not to post or do you want to see paint diary growing despite other manofacturers?
